While the hippopotamus may look like a very gentle animal, it is actually quite dangerous. In fact, the hippo has killed more people than any other wild animal in the world! Their teeth are very sharp and can grow up to 125 centimeters long. Still most people need not worry since hippos are vegetarians and only attack when they are threatened.The hippopotamus spends most of the day sleeping in the mud. During the night it wades in the water looking for food. The hippo is very comfortable in lakes and rivers and can actually spend up to 15 minutes under water. Recent research suggests the hippo is more closely related to the whale than to land animals such as the elephant. Baby hippos are even born in the water and so learn to swim immediately. It's no wonder the word hippopotamus actually means "river horse."

Saint Partick's Day is celebrated around the world on March 17th. It was a caring person who did many good things for Ireland. It is believed that he lived in Ireland and died on March 17th, in the year 460. Every year the Irish and their descendants have celebrations and parades all over the world.There are many traditions that go along with St. Patrick's Day. People will often wear green clothes since it is the color of Ireland. There are often huge parades celebrating the day. As well, many people dance and sing to traditional Irish music. It is quite common for the Irish to share in a glass of beer no matter what day March 17th falls on. The biggest celebrations occur in the US, Canada, Australia, the UK and especially in Ireland. However, even in Taiwan, you will find foreigners celebrating on March 17th.

CRISTMAS EVE

Last Wednesday is Christmas Eve, my three roommates and I bought pizza and some bottles of coke to make a party. All our classmates who live another room came to9 406 and have fun with us. We played games, chatted, and make new wish for our new year.
But as we played Wii, my roommate saw a article in bbs which called us so noisy that they could not sleep. We felt sorry for them so we no longer play Wii and go to bed. In this lesson I have known that “As we play fun, we should stand in other shoes.” If we cannot stand in other shoes, we will find some nonessential arguments for us.

Hideo Nomo is a Japanese former right-handed pitcher in Nippon Professional Baseball and Major League Baseball. He achieved early success in Japan, where he played with the Kintetsu Buffaloes from 1990 to 1994. in computer science, we learn a computer langue which named c++. It is because that we are major in computer science information engineering, it is the most important subject to us.
When I first know this program langue, I was a senior higt school student. I did not know I may write it every day after three years. The experience for writing turbo c (name of another program langue) made me know that writing c++ needs logical thincking, and your brain should very clear. But I think the best advantage is that I can make many friends. When the first day I stay in CGU, I have no friends. But after I stay in dormitory, I get new friends – my roommates, all of them are kind and interesting. We exchanged our senior high school’s experience and shared our idea for our new school life. And I knew some new friends which stayed in dormitory. So I believe that live in dormitory can let me make many friends.

What Taiwan can Learn from Other Countries

Taiwan, also called Formosa, has been progressed a lot in many respects over the past decades. However, as one of the citizens of this country, I think that we still can improve our society to be a better and more prosperous one. From my point of view, a great country is based on good education. Therefore, what Taiwan can learn from other countries is the system of education.

In Taiwan, every student should spend a lot of time studying textbooks because we put too much emphasis on the myth that a student’s scores surely determines his/her advanced learning in college and his/her abilities in working in the future. Thus, in order to get good grades, parents may believe that their children had better go to cram school to learn how to answer questions by drilling. Students in Taiwan somewhat may have better abilities on exams than those of students in other countries. But, when they grow up, they don’t really have abilities of self-learning, not to mention how to fulfill their dreams in reality.

In Northern Europe, teachers should help their students explore their potentials in the process of learning. They tend to stimulate students instead of drilling and practicing how to answer questions on a paper-pencil test. Learning to be is more important than their grades on subjects. I think that we can learn the good of their education and make a sound educational policy for our students. As a result, students in Taiwan may survive and achieve what he/ she want to be in this global village.

Jay is a Capricorn boy, and he has thought Capricorn was music and magic.
My favorite song in this album is “where the happiness we promised?”
In this song Jay wants to tell us we always lose our happiness without noticing. As soon as I first heard this song, I deeply loved its lyrics. After his album released I song it every day. Now, I translate some exquisite lyrics of this song.

In the playoff of cpbl , elephant team won the lanew bear.when I heard this news,I so excited that because I am elephants fans. I hope the elephants can defeat lions, because I don’t like lions. In the play off of MLB, Rays defeat Red Sox. I am very sad because I can’t see Matsuzaka throw ball in the final game. But I think Red Sox will still have a hopeful future in the next season . In my opinion Red Sox is one of my favorite baseball team in the world .Their performances at the field are always good and worth watching .In the beginning,I have poor knowledge of baseball.
